About the event

We will offer tours at 11, 12, 1 and 2. The Farm store will also be open.

Some things interested visitors need to know. For your benefit and the sanctuary’s.

👉This is NOT a petting zoo. We do not force any sanctuary resident to engage in contact. If they are feeling social they will certainly let you know. We are here for them, not them for us.

👉No Visitor is to walk around the property without a Sanctuary rep. This is for the residents safety and yours.

👉There are many blind and special needs residents at the sanctuary. Any loud, rambunctious noise and/or behavior can cause unnecessary stress and/ or scare the residents. We have a zero tolerance policy for this.

👉We are a vegan sanctuary. This means jokes or comments about the animals as food or references in that nature are not funny. Please be respectful. We do however have quite the sense of humor and do enjoy laughing and goofing around!

👉MOST IMPORTANT: Magzalea is a sanctuary for the residents not for people. When here you are visiting their home as a guest.

👉We are up on a hill, the terrain varies for the residents enrichment and enjoyment. We do try to have even walkways and paths but it can become muddy, rutted and there are hills.

👉No visitors without an appointment. This is also our home and we do enjoy our privacy. We are also home to 5 rescue dogs of various ages that like to run free and play on the property. Not all of them enjoy company outside of known family/ friends.

👉We do ask for a donation for tours.

👉There will most likely be projects in progress somewhere. We are always working to improve the sanctuary.

The sanctuary is home to many animals who have been abused, neglected or have special needs. We absolutely love showing and talking about the various animals. However, we ask that adults with children talk with them prior to coming to the sanctuary about being calm, as loud noises can really upset some of the residents, especially the blind residents.
